Happy Veterans Day!
In a special service of Thanksgiving to our veterans, we will honor those who willingly serve and have been in service to our country. We love this nation and all who defend it. We believe we are still a Christian country. We are truly blessed to have the freedoms we take for granted. There will be a Thanksgiving Feast after the service. All are welcome!

The Lord is Good
The United Pentecostals in Platte City are excited for what the Lord is doing. The year is more than half over and we are still growing in grace and truth.
Home Missions is an exciting life filled with reaching out to new people to introduce them to the Lord Jesus Christ. Many services, events, outreaches, Bible Studies and times of fellowship have been accomplished in His name. His mission is truly our purpose.
When you join with us you will see that we could not be where we are without Jesus Christ and the support of Mission minded people.
What is our Mission? To go out into the hiways and the biways and compel them to come in.
We are busy in a busy world who doesnt always have time to focus on Jesus. It is a trick of the enemy to become adjusted to moving about in the dark.
We are thankful for Pastor Gary Dornbach, our North American Missions Sectional director, for hosting a celebration in honor of NAM pastors, recently. It is an honor to be counted among the four in our district.
We look forward to this next half of the year and the opportunities we know we will have.

We are excited to say that we continue to see people baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost in the work that is going on with United Pentecostals in Platte City!! It is rejuvenating to each of us each and every time someone gives their life to Jesus.
There is much prayer, fasting and seeking God's will in everything we do. Right down to the housekeeping! In the midst of teaching, preaching, working secular jobs, special occasion details, fundraisers, hospital visits, graduation parties, birthdays and babies being born, we try to keep things looking the best we can in our location. We appreciate every time we get great volunteer help!
We are very happy to say that the chairs are finished being upholstered! They look great with the fresh paint on the walls.
It is true that we want to make the best of the venue we are in while we are in it! At the same time, we do covet prayers since we are seeking a more permanent venue.
The Lord will show us where He wants us and we have no desire to be any other place than whereever He wills. Right now, that is at the Platte City Civic Center 308 Zed Martin Platte City, MO 64079
We are also thankful for the donations we receive from surrounding churches. We are overwhelmed with the generosity of Section 10 pastors who've contributed! Their donations are a blessing and we ask God to heap the blessing back on the ones who give.
We are so looking forward to THIS FRIDAY NIGHT at Refuge Church where we will be in attendance for the SECTION 10 NORTH AMERICAN MISSIONS CELEBRATION SERVICE! We thank Pastor Gary Dornbach for all he put into this service and hope that if you are able, you will be in attendance with us. Friday, May 18th @ 7:30 P.M. 1315 Nashua Rd. Liberty, MO 64068
You will hear Pastor Jordan, Pastor Dycus, Pastor Barlow and myself speak a word. Our wives will be involved in this service as well.
WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!
Lord Bless you in all you do for the Kingdom,
Pastor Roger Parrett

We are excited about the painting which is going on THIS weekend in our temporary venue.
The great CITY OF PLATTE CITY has given us free reign to make a few cosmetic changes to the facility where we have church. They let us make color choices, pick material and spruce up the place.
We have received thanks and compliments for the differences we've made to the Civic Center. We know it is recognized. More than the cosmetic differences, we believe the SPIRIT of God is what is making the TRUE difference in the atmosphere. Strongholds are being torn down, the Holy Ghost is freely moving in the lives of the people of this city. We are forming relationships which we know will last.
We are humbled by this experience and each person who has lifted us up in prayer, who has given donations, been a support emotionally, provided help physically, we know you WILL BE BLESSED!
Thank you, very much, to our Professional Painter, son in law, David Jett, who has volunteered his time to oversee this project. It is a sacrifice which will not go unrewarded. Lord Bless all him and his helpers who put their efforts with ours to have a wonderful church in Platte City!

PASTOR COMMUNIQUE
This past weekend was full to the brim with BLESSINGS!
I owe a big thanks to Bro. Jonathon and Sis Christy Lucas for coming to Platte City, MO from St. Louis, MO and blessing our church with the wonderful ministry that they have. It was MUCH appreciated. We enjoyed the fellowship with them and being in the house of the Lord, together. The church had my birthday fellowship at our house on Sat. night and we had a great time! Thank you, to my church for all the cards and gift from the church. It is much appreciated and I promise I will make use of it!
Friday night prayer in the Prayer Room God provided for us was marvelous!! It is the first of many such meetings! We have this time reserved from 4-5 p.m. each Friday at 225 N. Main Platte City, MO. We will add other times and notify our members of such times at that prayer room. We also have corporate prayer at 9 a.m. each and every Sunday morning at UPINPC. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." We will not succeed without communication with Jesus about His plan for us.
This brings me to the Prayer Conference put together by Pastor Terry Sims on Sat. morning. I hope that is the first of many more. The Focused prayers for family, marriages, unity in the churches in Section 10, finances, and even prayers of repentence were heard by Jesus and we heard from HIM! One thing that stood out to me was when Sis Misty Dycus said "if satan can't make us bad, he makes us busy." Let's not get so busy with carnal OR spiritual business that we can't make time for prayer in our schedules.Communication is vital to our walk with God.
Obviously, there are a lot of events and work in all churches and ours is no exception. We have many things going on and coming up. But, PRAYER will be at the center of each and every thing we do.
Jesus has opened doors at the Civic Center for us to feel at home in making some cosmetic changes to our temporary venue to make the atmosphere more inviting. This is being financed and is approved by the City of Platte City who is working with us in every way possible. They have shown great favor to us in many ways. This is not our doing. This is Jesus. But, we are going to make the most of it.
The chairs will be reupholstered and the walls will be painted. We are adding curtains to the trophy cases and dining room window. There will be new carpet and also tile in the entry way. We are happy for anyone who would like to help with these projects.
Saturday, the 17th of March, we will have an upholstery party at 10 a.m. at my house. The paint day is to be announced. But, it will happen shortly after chairs are finished. The goal is to get finished before Easter.
The Ladies of Favor are meeting at Sis Angie Holt's house Tuesday of this week. They meet once a month for a time of fellowship, word and prayer. The men's group is currently being formed and we will notify you of upcoming events for the men who will have something similar. Bro. Michael Parrett is heading that up with the help of myself and James Willett.
Casting Crown Concert is Thursday, March 22. We are going with REFUGE church and some great people from Platte City who answered our ad for discount tickets being offered. (Which means these Platte City residents get to sit with us and we get to know them).
POWER UP CONFERENCE is coming up at the end of the month! We hope every person in our church gets to go to at least one service! Last year was phenomenal! You won't regret attending.
PENNY WARS...men, looks like women are showing us up as of last week...but, after Bro. Dave Hackathorn's BAG OF SILVER we shall SEE!! This goes throughout March and we will pay our kids camp tuition with this fundraiser and any extra funds will be moved into the SHEAVES FOR CHRIST offering.
OUTREACH is essential and ongoing. Watch for dates and times to be announced often. The next Outreach is this Sunday from 12 - 1. It will be a quick blast again like we did the last time. We will pass out 250 flyers and it should not take very long with as many people as participate. We are blessed with an evangelistic attitude in our members. I want you all to know how much I appreciate that! We will focus on our informational brochure Sis. Sherii designed. We want to let people know the UNITED PENTECOSTALS ARE IN PLATTE CITY!!

Pastor Communique
Three and a half months are passed since we opened the doors of UNITED PENTECOSTALS IN PLATTE CITY for services in Platte City, MO. Last Tuesday was the official Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting to celebrate our existence. Our presbyter, Pastor Scott Smith and our Mo section 10 North American Home Missions Director, Pastor Gary Dornbach were part of the ceremony.
We appreciate their involvement. Their excitement, encouragement, assistance and prayers have meant a great deal to us.
On Friday of last week at revival services at REFUGE church in Liberty, MO one of our members received the HOLY GHOST bringing our total to 2 members filled with the Holy Ghost in the last 2 months. We anticipate this as the beginning of the multitudes He will fill not only in our church but in surrounding churches as well!
Sunday morning I challenged our church to be obedient to God's command, be strong and of good courage, for He will go before us. There is no enemy that can stand against us if He is for us!
He gave us PLATTE CITY, MO! With our team of willing outreach members, warmer weather, longer days, we plan to TAKE THIS CITY IN JESUS NAME FOR HIS GLORY!
Lord Bless every person who is with us in this endeavor to win souls in Platte City, or whatever city you are in!

Pastor's Communique
Bro. Michael Parrett closed out the month by preaching his first full sermon at the United Pentecostals in Platte City. Bro. Michael will be in rotation with me to preach at least once a month to gain pulpit experience as he obtains his local ministerial license with United Pentecostal Church International. We are proud of his desire to be a minister of the gospel in a Oneness, Holiness, Apostolic organization!
Sis Sherii and I appreciate all that Bro. Michael and his wife, Sis. Mae Parrett do for United Pentecostals in Platte City.
From Michael filling in for me during my surgery, to both thier help with worship, for being supportive of our vision, by Mae leading our Youth Ministry with the help of Nolan Sartain...we are blessed to have them! We appreciate also thier prayers and countless other things they do with and for us. Their help is immeasurable and we ask God to bless them in ways we cannot!
I can say that this is true, too, of our children Tera Johnson and her husband Casey, Amber Jett and her husband David, all their children and all of our members. I have seen an abundance of willingness to help us out in every aspect from every member. I am overwhelmed by the excellent support and involvement from all!!
On the first Sunday in Feb., 2012, we had our second resident of Platte City to come and be our guest! The first came the week before and returned with his wife!
In Outreach this past week, we selected a neighborhood to pass out flyers. With 12 adults and 9 children, we were able to finish our goal in less than 30 minutes! Our entire church is taught that they are involved in both Outreach and in Prayer/Fasting ministry. We were excited for this turnout of committed members who have a vision to win the lost souls in our city!
We know the Lord will bless the efforts we all give continually for this mission.
February is known as the time for Valentines...and love. The MO District scheduled RENEW,a couples retreat, on Feb. 9-11. If you are not able to be at the RENEW marriage retreat, it is still worth the investment to commit to renew a spark with your own mate this month. Find some time to go on a date, or do something together you enjoy. Appreciate one another and do special things for one another.
Scripture says, Husbands love your wives as Christ loveth the church. This is read as a command. I want to take this opportunity to say that, for me, this is one of the easiest commands from Jesus that I obey! It is EASY to love my wife!

Our church is entering a new dimension. We feel an added surge of His Spirit. We see the Vision the Lord has cast on us for great revival in all Holy Ghost filled churches. Bro. Jason Sciscoe prophesied over our district during Vision Conference this weekend.
Personally, the Lord spoke to me about His plans for our work in Platte City, MO. We came away refreshed, but, knowing there is a battle to be won. We are in it. We are going to win it!
Our church began a committed daily fast today. We expect great things! Thank you to those who quickly signed up without prodding. This willingness in the body will meet its reward. The Lord Bless you and keep you.
We have a great church because we serve a GREAT GOD!

Pastor's Communique
Our first Sunday service of the New Year, 2012 has come and gone. We were pleased to have Bro. Arthur Shilts come and speak to the congregation in Platte City, MO. Obedient to the voice of God, he shared a message that God wanted us to hear. HELL was NOT made for US! (But, if we are not right with God according to the Bible, then we will end up there).
I believe God wants us to proclaim to all whom will hear...that it is not His desire that any should perish, but, that all should come to REPENTANCE. Thank you, Bro. Shilts, for not being afraid to speak what God asked you to speak.
With the beginning of the New Year, we need to make sure that our tithing is not just financially, but, that we consider all our resources...time, energy, talents, and give the first fruits to Jesus in 2012.
I have committed to work on a project for prophecies in the news. The more I research, the more I read the Bible, the more I believe, it is TIME FOR JESUS!
For more info see, "The Coming Storm, a Look at Endtime Prophecies" or, "like" my page on Facebook of the same name.

2011 has quickly come and gone. A lot was accomplished
We saw the enemy try to attack with a report of cancer. The Lord changed the report to say Gil Leach is healed! We saw loved ones restored in their faith and develop deeper commitments to the Lord Jesus Christ! There were several Going Home celebrations for several great giants of Pentecost. Most dear to my heart, we were approved by the United Pentecostal Church International to begin a North American Missions work in Platte City, MO!
The Lord has sent willing vessels to our side who have been a constant source of strength and support, financially and spiritually. We averaged 25 in attendance with 34 first time guests in 7 weeks. We had one baptized in Jesus name.
We had the support of many area ministers who have helped us in so many ways. We could not succeed without them and the hand of the Lord. We have had many prayers from many people who let us know continually oftheir prayers for this first United Pentecostal Church ever established in the City of Platte City.
It is TIME FOR JESUS IN PLATTE CITY,MO!
2012 has us looking forard with great expectancy of a mighty move of the Holy Ghost throughout the whole world! We rejoice with every person who obeys Acts 2:38! The first day of the New Year two were baptized in Jesus name, one of whom received the Holy Ghost! This took place at the Refuge Church in Liberty, MO at a special CELEBRATION SERVICE with Pastor Gary Dornbach.
We give JESUS all the glory and all the praise for all that has and WILL DO! United Pentecostals in Platte City rejoice!
