Pastor Communique
Three and a half months are passed since we opened the doors of UNITED PENTECOSTALS IN PLATTE CITY for services in Platte City, MO. Last Tuesday was the official Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting to celebrate our existence. Our presbyter, Pastor Scott Smith and our Mo section 10 North American Home Missions Director, Pastor Gary Dornbach were part of the ceremony.
We appreciate their involvement. Their excitement, encouragement, assistance and prayers have meant a great deal to us.
On Friday of last week at revival services at REFUGE church in Liberty, MO one of our members received the HOLY GHOST bringing our total to 2 members filled with the Holy Ghost in the last 2 months. We anticipate this as the beginning of the multitudes He will fill not only in our church but in surrounding churches as well!
Sunday morning I challenged our church to be obedient to God's command, be strong and of good courage, for He will go before us. There is no enemy that can stand against us if He is for us!
He gave us PLATTE CITY, MO! With our team of willing outreach members, warmer weather, longer days, we plan to TAKE THIS CITY IN JESUS NAME FOR HIS GLORY!
Lord Bless every person who is with us in this endeavor to win souls in Platte City, or whatever city you are in!

Pastor's Communique
Bro. Michael Parrett closed out the month by preaching his first full sermon at the United Pentecostals in Platte City. Bro. Michael will be in rotation with me to preach at least once a month to gain pulpit experience as he obtains his local ministerial license with United Pentecostal Church International. We are proud of his desire to be a minister of the gospel in a Oneness, Holiness, Apostolic organization!
Sis Sherii and I appreciate all that Bro. Michael and his wife, Sis. Mae Parrett do for United Pentecostals in Platte City.
From Michael filling in for me during my surgery, to both thier help with worship, for being supportive of our vision, by Mae leading our Youth Ministry with the help of Nolan Sartain...we are blessed to have them! We appreciate also thier prayers and countless other things they do with and for us. Their help is immeasurable and we ask God to bless them in ways we cannot!
I can say that this is true, too, of our children Tera Johnson and her husband Casey, Amber Jett and her husband David, all their children and all of our members. I have seen an abundance of willingness to help us out in every aspect from every member. I am overwhelmed by the excellent support and involvement from all!!
On the first Sunday in Feb., 2012, we had our second resident of Platte City to come and be our guest! The first came the week before and returned with his wife!
In Outreach this past week, we selected a neighborhood to pass out flyers. With 12 adults and 9 children, we were able to finish our goal in less than 30 minutes! Our entire church is taught that they are involved in both Outreach and in Prayer/Fasting ministry. We were excited for this turnout of committed members who have a vision to win the lost souls in our city!
We know the Lord will bless the efforts we all give continually for this mission.
February is known as the time for Valentines...and love. The MO District scheduled RENEW,a couples retreat, on Feb. 9-11. If you are not able to be at the RENEW marriage retreat, it is still worth the investment to commit to renew a spark with your own mate this month. Find some time to go on a date, or do something together you enjoy. Appreciate one another and do special things for one another.
Scripture says, Husbands love your wives as Christ loveth the church. This is read as a command. I want to take this opportunity to say that, for me, this is one of the easiest commands from Jesus that I obey! It is EASY to love my wife!
